The NPI Buyer will take responsibility for component sourcing for NPI programs and develop and maintain cost effective NPI supply that is supporting both business and customer needs. You will also be responsible for:
Achieving material cost targets of new product launches through cost development tracking and supplier negotiation.Identifying and managing cost out projects with suppliers to achieve new product launch costs. Leading the handover from NPI to commodity commercial team and ensuring effective material planning prior to start of production is also handed over to materials department Ensuring 100% on time delivery from suppliers through effective supplier management and accurate maintenance of the supply chain database and purchasing/ordering systems.The Opportunity:You should be degree qualified, working towards CIPS / with exposure to six sigma methodologies.Demonstrable experience in automotive purchasing is required as well as an understanding of operating systems such as Oracle.
You will have experience of dealing with a global supply base and a background in negotiation / commercial management. The Location:
This role is based in the North of England and is office based so you will need to either already live there or be prepared to relocate.
